Welcome to the Dr. Catherine Hansen suite of services including the Empowered Women’s Circle. We are very grateful to have you in our community and respect your privacy.
 

Here we describe how we collect, use, and handle your personal data when you use the Dr. Catherine Hansen suite of services including the Empowered Women’s Circle products and services (hereafter referred to inclusively as “Services”). What & Why

We collect and use the following information to provide, improve, protect, and promote our Services.
 

Account information. When you sign up for your account, register for our services, upgrade to a paid plan or modify your information, we collect, and associate with your account, the information you provide to us (like your name, email address, phone number, payment info, and physical address).
 

Your information. Our Services are designed as a simple and personalized way for you to create an account and utilize our Services including newsletters, education, on-line course content, community support, membership plans, upgraded programs and accessible digital and physical products and services.
 

Usage information. We collect information related to how you use the Services, including actions you take in your account (like sharing, clicking links, opening course content, interacting and/or engaging with content). We use this information to provide, improve, and promote our content and to continue to improve our Services. For example, if you click on a link to a blog, we are able to view your interaction history and level of engagement with our Services. This information is used internally by Dr. Catherine Hansen and not shared externally for any reason.
 

Device information. We also collect information from and about the devices you use to access the Services. This includes things like IP addresses, the type of browser and device you use, the web page you visited before coming to our sites, and identifiers associated with your devices. Your devices (depending on their settings) may also transmit location information to the Services. For example, we use device information to detect abuse and identify and troubleshoot bugs.
 

Integration across platforms. Our services are designed to work across multiple software platforms and devices and, to do this seamlessly, we utilize third party software programs. This allows us to offer education, resources, course content and community interactions that augment our Services. How We Provide Our Services

Our main Services are hosted on the Wix.com and Teachable.com platforms with seamless linking to the additional software that allows us to communicate with you and provide our Services. These platforms provide us with the capacities that allows us to share and/or sell our products and Services to you. Your data may be stored through their respective data storage, databases and applications if required to conduct our Services.


Cookies and other technologies. We use technologies like cookies and pixel tags to provide, improve, protect, and promote our Services. For example, cookies help us with things like remembering your username for your next visit, understanding how you are interacting with our Services, and improving them based on that information. You can set your browser to not accept cookies, but this may limit your ability to use the Services.

Marketing. We give many users the option to use some of our Services free of charge. These free Services are made possible by the fact that some users upgrade to one of our paid Services or make purchases. If you register for our Services, we will, from time to time, send you information about upgrades or additional Services created by Dr. Catherine Hansen including The Empowered Women’s Circle or close collaborators, when permissible. Users who receive these marketing materials can opt out at any time.

The Ways We May Share Your Information

We may share information as discussed in this policy, but we never sell it to advertisers or other third parties.


Collaboration with Partners. In conducting our services, Dr. Catherine Hansen and the Empowered Women’s Circle collaborate with other individuals and organizations who may have differing privacy policies; however, your digital information is never shared with those collaborators without your consent, except as is required to conduct our EWC services. Those people may have access to your information for the purposes of delivering our Services. They are not provided a copy of your information and are required to use it internally and in accordance with this privacy policy.

 

Law & Order and the Public Interest. We may disclose your information to third parties if we determine that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to: (a) comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or appropriate government request; (b) protect any person from death or serious bodily injury; (c) prevent fraud or abuse of our Services or our users; (d) protect Dr. Catherine Hansen, her family or collaborator’s rights, property, safety, or interest; or (e) perform a task carried out in the public interest.

 

Users in the European Economic Area, UK, and Switzerland. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and other applicable laws, users in the European Economic Area (“EEA”), UK, and Switzerland have the right to, under certain conditions, request access to, rectification of, or erasure of their personal information; request restriction of processing; object to processing; withdraw consent from processing; data portability; and submit a complaint to a data protection authority. Opting Out or Deleting Information

If you would like us to delete your information from our database completely, please reach out to support@drcatherinehansen.com or send us postal mail to: Catherine Hansen MD, 1102 W Viejo Dr., Friendswood, Texas, 77546. Also, you can unsubscribe at any time, and we will stop collecting new data and safely file all previous information provided to us.

 

Minors. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform, or, if you are between the ages of 13 and 18, you must have your parent or guardian’s permission to use our Services. We do not knowingly collect or store any personal information from or about children under the age of 13, and we will delete such information if we become aware that it has been submitted through our Platform. Parents or guardians who believe that we might have any personal information from or about a child under the age of 13 may submit a request to support@drcatherinehansen.com for us to remove such information.

Specific to Payment Information

We use reputable third-party programs to process payments for our Services. For additional information and your convenience, we have provided segments of the privacy policy from our two main software platforms that receive payments below.

  • Student Payment Information. To purchase a course, Coaching, or other service through our Platform, you’ll need to provide us with certain personal information, such as your name, address, and information about the service you are purchasing. You may also need to provide certain payment-related information directly to our third-party payment processors, as described below.

  • Third Party Payment Processors. We use third party payment processors like PayPal and Stripe to process payments through the Teachable Platform. For payments processed via Teachable Native Gateways, the third-party processor provides us with information related to the payment status of your account; this information includes your payment card type and last four digits, payment expiration date, zip code, approximate location based on IP address, country of origin, and any email address associated with the payment type. For security purposes, Teachable does not collect or receive any sensitive payment information, such as your complete card number or authentication data. Our third-party payment processors are independent from Teachable and have their own privacy policies. For additional information about how your payment information is processed and stored, we recommend that you review the applicable payment protection service's privacy policy.

  • Payment Protection Service. We use third party payment protection services like Sift Science, Inc. to stop fraud and streamline payment operations. For payments processed via Teachable Native Gateways, the third party payment protection service may collect the following information: User contact details (e.g., email address, postal address, phone number and user login); Site usage information (e.g., IP address, session ID, mobile/desktop device properties and metadata); Transaction information (e.g., items purchased, currency code, billing method and partial credit card information); Site communication information (e.g., certain end-user feedback provided on sites); Account activity information (e.g., account login attempts and failures, if a password was reset); and Custom data, which are unique fields that are specific to the you. Sift uses this data to determine the likelihood of fraudulent behavior by end users. Our third-party payment protection services are independent from Teachable and have their own privacy policies. For additional information about how your payment information is processed and stored, we recommend that you review the applicable payment processor's privacy policy.

  • Participation in Creator Content. When you enroll in a course, Coaching service, or use or access other Creator Content, Teachable will collect personal information relating to your participation in the Creator Content, such as courses you have enrolled in, quiz results, lecture progress and certifications.

 

Specific to Payment information: Wix

  • All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com that are used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.
